The default startup mode is specially designed to get new users up and running, just hitting the play button will launch you into the selected game.
A skill level and map number can be chosen which will launch you directly in the map, this method bypasses the in-game menus.
Risen3D can be run in Basic Doom mode allowing maps to be played without many of the bells and whistles, this method is particularly useful when playing heavily dehacked wads.
You can change the title theme of the launcher by double clicking on the title, this will step you through several choices.
You can install a wad file to the launcher's installed games list from any location on your PC, this applies to wads in both zipped and unzipped format.
Enabling advanced options allows for greater flexibility such as providing a zip library, music lists and model pack options.
You can specify the folder where you have downloaded or stored your zipped wads, after which all zips will be displayed in the launcher's zip library along with the selected zip's content.
Installing a wad to the games list makes the game more easily accessible with its own unique savegame location. When uninstalling the game from the list all associated files are then automatically removed.
Enabling the shortcut creation option allows you to create a Risen3D shortcut folder on the Desktop or a shortcut group in the Start Menu, this can be a useful way for organising your favourite wads in groups.
R3D Edit is a useful map editing tool for aligning texture offsets in the game environment, any changes can then be automatically saved to the wad on exit.
You can create your own playlists for Doom, specifying your own favourite music to be played with each map.
Risen3D is totally portable and can be either unzipped or installed to a USB flash drive.
