 Enabling 3Dsound.

 1) If you are using a Creative Labs sound card then use their Alchemy fix.

 2) After around 2009 many motherboards were fitted with 5.1 surround
sound chips. This can be easily verified by checking the sound out
sockets available. If there are three audio out sockets rather than
just a single stereo socket then the chip supports 5.1 sound.

With 5.1 support there is a good chance that the MB sound chip
supports OpenAL. Additional 3D sound effects (reverb) can be
played with these chips by installing DSOAL sound support.

Go to our website to download an installer:

    http://risen3d.drdteam.org/

Note that if only using stereo sound then installing DSOAL will still
    enable reverb effects.

Note reverb *may* still work with a stereo MB sound chip but when
tested with a Realtek chip fitted to a MB made in 2017 it did not.
This is probably because it was a "bargain basement" low cost chip.
As long as the MB is fitted with PCIe sockets then sound cards are
still available from Creative Labs and one of these will have to be
    installed if wanting reverb effects.

The DSOAL files that are used with our installer are fully licensed
for use with applications that are provided free of charge such as
Risen3D. We neither recommend nor condone the use of other solutions
that can be found on the internet such as a derogated dsound.dll
that contravenes Creative Labs licensing agreement.
